  7. CBIS Enterprize is an image and information management system based on an open
  8. systems architecture. CBIS Enterprize is designed to image-enable current
  9. software, hardware, and networking resources by adding state-of-the-art tools
  10. for capturing, manipulating, storing, and retrieving document office
  11. information. The system is capable of inputting data through FAX, scan, and
  12. import interfaces; manage the data in an optical information management
  13. subsystem; present data online; or output data through local and remote print
  14. servers and remote FAX servers

  16. CBIS Enterprize is database and hardware independent. The system's modular
  17. design allows for quick integration of a variety of peripherals, easy
  18. portability, and scalability from department to enterprise-wide networked
  19. solutions. The system consists of UNIX-based servers and DOS/Windows,
  20. Macintosh, and OS/2/Windows-based clients with the added capability to connect
  21. to exisiting mainframe-based applications. CBIS Enterprize provides expanded
  22. capabilities for the integration of the following: image-enabled workflow, COTS
  23. GUI front ends, OCR functions, full text search, and retrieval.
